Overview:
It's a 3-Step program like Nicoderm CQ and has helped hundreds of thousands of people quit smoking. Both are 3-Step programs, starting with Step 1 patches at 21 mg of nicotine, then Step 2 patches at 14 mg and finishing with Step 3 patches at 7 mg. The two programs are essentially equivalent. For Heavy Smokers, Nicoderm CQ suggests six weeks on Step 1 and Habitrol suggests four weeks. Our customers have been satisfied with either of the two suggestions. The main difference is price, with Habitrol being lower. The Habitrol patch contains nicotine, the addictive agent in tobacco products. When you wear a patch, it gradually releases nicotine into your bloodstream through the skin. By replacing some of the nicotine to which your body has become accustomed from smoking, the patch helps reduce your nicotine withdrawal symptoms. By following the 3-Step program you gradually wean your body of its nicotine cravings over an eight-week period until you are nicotine free.

Reviewer: Sabrina Cross from Syracuse New York USA — Aug 8, 2008
I tried this product thur the smoke free quit line. This is my 6th time trying to quit. I have no craving don't miss them this time. The smell of them when your around people who do smoke or light up makes me sick to smell now before when I qiut it smelled good.I hit 122 day's smoke free today. For those that have trouble getting the patch to stick try whipeing the area with alcaol first worked for me patch never came off even in shower

stars P.S.
Reviewer: K Richter from Portland, OR USA — Sep 22, 2007
I forgot to mention that it doesn't stick too well. Certainly not the 24 hours of wear. Mine sticks for about 6-8 hrs, then I have to tape it. The best way I found was a HUGE bandage right over the top, first thing in the am....stayed on all day.
The only other thing is it itches like CRAZY around the patch for the first hour. Then I'm ok. But I've had no rash or irritation.

It's cheaper...and it's value is more than it costs! It's saved me so far: 12 days and counting.

stars Best choice for me
Reviewer: K Richter from Portland, OR USA — Sep 22, 2007
This is the 3rd and final time I quit. I haven't had the withdrawals and physical cravings...just the behavioral and mental ones (and this product won't help with that!)
I recommend it for the physical aspect. (Just be aware that it can cause vivid dreams. I take mine off before bed.)

stars Works great with duct tape!
Reviewer: JustMe from Ohio — Sep 5, 2007
Seriously, this product does what it says it will. The cravings are more like passing thoughts and easy to get around. It offers a gradual step down from Nicotine until you can handle it solo. My only complaint, they don't stick very well. You have a 24 hour patch with 12 hour stick time..When push comes to shove I'm willing to tape it down. Sure beats paying double for a "name brand" and sure beats smoking.

stars week one, surprised
Reviewer: christian from central Texas — Aug 3, 2007
i am on day 5 now. been smoking for over 25 years. my father-in-law (who quit smoking cold turkey) gave me the full 2 month supply. although they have been expired for over a year now, they still work. first day was hell. took about half a day to kick in.i used nite quil to help me sleep. day two was much better.nite quil again to help me sleep. day three was hell again, because the patch fell of in the middle of the night before. took another half day to kick in again. used benadryl to help me sleep. wrapped the patch with gauss to prevent it from falling off. started chewing on cinimin sticks and eating grapes. day four was virtualy craving free. just annoying mini cravings that can be taken care of by walking the dog. day 5, today. craving free, stopped snaking.

you will also notice that you will have very vivit dreams which can be quite amusing

stars Day 1 on the patch
Reviewer: MeanDonnaJean from The Bowels of Hell, NY — Oct 20, 2006
Disclosure: I'm not stupid by any means; I just type it like I say it, in my very own kinda "slang/cyber shorthand"...

I'm 50 yrs old, began smokin' at age 14, and was smokin' well over a pack a day. Decided to call NYS's 311# and give these FREE patches a try (the word "free" is what actually sold me on the idea). Hadda final cig at 11:30 p.m. last night, then slapped the patch on at 6:00 a.m. this mornin'. So far, so good. The edges on the patch (which come in a flesh tone, notta clear patch as some are) may not stay put very well, but it surely hasn't slipped off either. No probs with rashes, irritations, or edginess; not even any kinda withdrawal symptoms (a subject I have waaaay too much first-hand knowledge about)...yet. If things change, I'll be back to let y'all know. P.S. One tip I DID try from all the readin' material they sent along was the 3x5 card rolled up and the tip stuffed with rubberbands (I also added cotton to MINE). Beats havin' a blank empty hand.

stars Patches are patchy
Reviewer: gpstopsmoking from usa — Sep 11, 2006
Ive tried this product and although it did help the withdrawl ..it was short lived ...because the patches FALL OFF! I couldnt keep one on for more than an hour or two. They also made my arm itchy and red and achy.

stars Quit for 5 yrs. now trying again
Reviewer: Colleen from Cranston R.I. — Nov 8, 2005
For 5 yrs I had quit using this product but went back after the death of a family member. Now I am smoke free again with the same product. I recommend this product to all who really wants to quit It truly helps the cravings you experience. Don't be afraid to cut a straw in half and pretend to smoke because you will need something to do with your hands and this helps. I used all 3 steps and I truly believe you can do this also. Just trust in yourself as well as this product.
